Explanation of house style and motif

House style:

A house style is a companies preferred manner of presentation and layout of written material.
When applied to music products this can mean that a certain font or style of text is used for all of the artists products or a certain colour scheme is used for the products.
An example of this is the use of the same font for the text on all of the products relating to the album in a perfect world by Kodaline:

A motif is a dominant or recurring idea in an artistic work. For music product this can be applied in the use of logos or images that can automatically be associated with an artist by the audience. These logos or images are continuously used on the artists products and merchandise in order to help sell the products as they are easily recognisable as that particular artist.
An example of an artist using a logo as a motif is Coasts:
The C logo is automatically recognised by the audience as being related to the band coasts as it is used continuously on all of their products to relate them all the the artist and help them to sell. This is shown as the t-shirt has the same logo as the album.
