First draft of full music video

This is the first full draft of the full music video. It has no effects or transitions yet and is just the order of shots. There are a few problems with the cuts between shots and the timing of the different shots which will be changed in the next draft.

First day of filming:

Sunday 6th December 2015 -

1:00pm: Shots will be taken with Ciara and Andrew together and separate. These shots will also include the arguing scenes.

Second day of filming:

Sunday 13th December 2015 - 

1:00pm: This day will be used to film any remaining shots that need to be taken.


Full video filming schedule:

Friday 29th January 2016-

5:30pm:The actors will be coming to the filming location for the first short filming session. This will be a short one as they can not arrive until after college and have other commitments. Shannon will also be present for this filming session as an assistant helping to do the actors hair and makeup and also the help organise the location and lighting.

Thursday 4th February 2016-

6:00pm: Ciara and Sophie will be present for a few hours filming. This filming session will be longer as the actors are available for longer. This session will be used to film all of the remaining shots involving just Ciara and Sophie. Shannon will also be present for this filming session as an assistant helping to do the actors hair and makeup and also the help organise the location and lighting.

Friday 5th February 2016-

6:00pm: Ciara and Andrew will be present for this filming session and it will last approximately 3 hours. This session will be used to shoot the shots involving just Ciara and Andrew including those before and after the "breakup".

Problems

After mock week - 

I was planning to use the same shots as filmed in the mock week filming sessions in the full music video however all of the footage was saved onto my SD card which fell out of my bag on the bus to college. I then had to re-film all of the footage using college equipment which meant that it took longer to film all of the footage needed for the full video.

Uploading videos - 

some of the videos are too large to upload straight into the blog so they have to be uploaded onto youtube first which takes a long time to do.

Lighting - 

Because the filming was done in the winter the outdoor filming was quite dark as it had to be filmed at around 6 o'clock and it was dark by this time. This made the shots hard to see.

Actor availability - 

Because the main female actor is in Ireland for a while i can not re-film any of the shots with her in.
The other female actor also is in Scotland a lot when not at college which also means i can not re-film any shots with her in.

Ciara Clarke - Girlfriend/ ex- girlfriend

I chose Ciara as she has lots of acting experience at an amateur dramatics company. She has significant experience performing on stage both acting and singing so also has knowledge of music. She is also a media studies student at a different college to me so has knowledge of the filming situation. She also lives in the same village as me where the entire video will be filmed making the filming schedule easier to stick to.

Andrew Winchester - Boyfriend/ ex-boyfriend

I chose Andrew as he lives in the house that part of the music video is going to be filmed in (He is my brother) this makes the film schedule easier to stick to. He also fits the character profile.

Sophie Graham - Friend

I chose Sophie as she lives fairly close so has easier access to the location and has done acting in the past.

Weather reports for filming

The weather forecast for Sunday 29th November 2015 shows that it will be cloudy with a bit of sun. This lighting will work well with the music video. The chance of rain will also add to the mise-en-scene of the video however the camera and other equipment will need to be adequately protected from the weather.

The weather reports for 4th and 5th of February showed similar weather so the same precautions will be taken.

Filming locations

These locations will be used to show the girl in the relationship walking down the street as she has left. As it will be filmed around the time when people are driving home from work the main road will be busy. The cars driving by can be used to symbolise how busy her thoughts are at this point in time.

This location will be used for filming the shots in the houses. The bedroom will be used to film the scenes with the girls whereas the living room and kitchen will be used to film the shots with Andrew and Ciara. The house will have the same layout to make them seem older than they are.

Messages

Ciara:

Sophie: Most of the organising with Sophie was done by talking to each other as we see each other everyday whereas i see Ciara less often so most of the organising was done by messaging.
Messaging Andrew was unnecessary as we live in the same house so were able to discuss anything at home.

Costumes

Before the breakup-

Andrew and Clara will both be in casual clothing. Throughout any shots where they are still together

As it's winter they may be wearing jumpers however they will remain casual. 

After the breakup-
During the shots with the 2 girls on a night out Ciara will be wearing a short black dress. The change from the jeans and t-shirt she wore when she was with her "boyfriend" to a short black dress represents the freedom she now has after the breakup. This will also be emphasised as they will both be wearing heels. In other shots involving the 2 girls they will be wearing casual clothing again (jeans and t-shirts) apart from the shots where Ciara has just woken up in which she will be wearing pyjamas.
